Identity before paid independent care
Before an independent provider accepts a first paid booking, the payment partner must verify their identity for receiving payouts. That identity check is not a criminal background check.
Information you can act on
Choosing care means knowing who you are dealing with and what matters for your pet. ZYZO will show what has been checked and give you clear choices about sharing private records.
ZYZO is preparing to launch. Booking and accounts aren’t open yet.
01
Profiles will show completed checks and their dates. The requirements depend on the role and service, and each check explains the evidence behind it. A published profile does not mean every possible check has been completed.
Before an independent provider accepts a first paid booking, the payment partner must verify their identity for receiving payouts. That identity check is not a criminal background check.
Independent providers must complete a government-photo-ID and live-selfie check before first accepting care inside a client’s home or boarding a pet at their own home. Business staff entering clients’ homes need this check before their first assignment.
Businesses, clinics and rescues must complete their required core checks before publication and accepting work. These cover the registration, professional licenses and premises permits that apply to their role and services.
A recorded license, skill or insurance check tells you what evidence was checked and when. It helps you make a decision; it cannot guarantee a person’s conduct or the quality of care.
02
Search is designed around care, location, and availability. Our goal is to bring high-quality, reliable services together for pet parents in one place.
Explore services, accepted pets and availability to find care that suits your pet’s routine and circumstances.
Reviews and dated checks help you assess a provider. Consider them alongside your pet’s needs, a conversation and any agreed introduction.
03
Veterinary records stay private. A share identifies the recipient, the information included and how long access lasts. Starting a care conversation does not open the whole record.
Views, downloads, exports, sharing changes and custody changes are recorded. Access is checked against the permissions that apply when information is requested.
Ending a share closes that permission, but cannot recall copies already downloaded or exported. Clinics and providers retain access to entries they wrote. Agreed adoption follow-up lasts for its stated period; ending it early requires the placing organization’s agreement.
04
Reporting, blocking and disputes will have clear steps. Reports go through review, and eligible decisions can be appealed. Support normally needs consent to read private case material. Access without consent is limited to a defined immediate-danger exception, with its reason and use recorded.
Good questions
No. Payout identity verification and the ID-and-selfie check confirm specific identity information. Neither is a criminal background check or a guarantee about someone’s conduct.
No. ZYZO does not provide its own insurance or a damage guarantee. A provider’s profile may show a dated insurance check when evidence has been reviewed. Ask that provider what their own coverage includes and whether it covers the care you need.
No. Saving a profile does not notify the person or organization, reveal who saved it or create a public save count. Your shortlist stays private.
